AirAsia to resume direct flights between Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, and Sibu in November

AirAsia is set to resume direct flights between Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, and Sibu starting in November. This move aims to restore and strengthen air connectivity between the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak.

The Kota Kinabalu–Bintulu route is scheduled to resume on November 1 with three weekly flights, while the Kota Kinabalu–Sibu route will begin on November 2 with four weekly flights. Both routes will utilize Airbus A320 aircraft. Tickets for these services have been available for purchase since September 2.

Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing stated that the resumption follows discussions with the airline to support economic activity, domestic tourism, and ease travel for those commuting for work, education, business, and medical needs. The minister emphasized the importance of stable and reliable services to maintain passenger confidence.
