Airbnb announces executive appointments and restructuring

Airbnb has announced several executive appointments and organizational restructuring measures. Pepijn Rijvers has been named the new Chief Business Officer, succeeding Dave Stephenson. In this role, Rijvers will oversee core business areas including Homes, Hotels, Global Markets, and Enterprise Operations. Before joining Airbnb, Rijvers served as Chief Business Officer at Tripadvisor and spent 13 years at Booking.com in various leadership roles.

Additionally, Fallon O’Connor has been appointed Head of Communications and People, expanding her responsibilities to include recruiting, talent, and belonging and development. She joins the company’s executive team.

Other structural changes include the transfer of the Partnerships team to Chief Experience Officer Hiroki Asai. Furthermore, the Corporate Development and Strategy, Performance and Compensation, and Workplace and Real Estate teams will be integrated into the finance department under Chief Financial Officer Ellie Mertz.
