Spain’s hotel overnight stays slip 0.9% in June 2026

Hotel overnight stays in Spain fell 0.9% year‑on‑year in June 2026, dropping to 38.6 million nights – the first inter‑annual decline in more than a year. The fall was driven by a 2% reduction in stays by non‑resident travellers, while domestic stays rose about 1.5%. Average daily revenue per occupied room (ADR) rose 5.8% to €137.1 and the Hotel Price Index increased 5.6% year‑on‑year. RevPAR climbed 4.9% to €101.6. Occupancy covered 65.6% of available rooms, 0.2 pp lower than June 2025, with weekend occupancy at 71.3%. The main domestic markets were Andalusia, Catalonia and the Valencian Community; the main foreign markets were the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Canary Islands, with the United Kingdom (29%) and Germany (16.3%) accounting for the bulk of non‑resident nights.

Regional snapshots showed Andalusia reaching a record 26.4 million nights in the first half of 2026, while Castilla‑La Mancha saw a 13% drop and Valladolid posted a 10% rise. Valencia’s hotels posted a 1.6% increase in June, and Galicia recorded a 3% rise despite the national downturn.
