Airbnb commits $1 million to Washington environmental protection
Airbnb has announced a $1 million investment in environmental protection initiatives across Washington State, marking the company’s largest community commitment in the state to date. The funding will be distributed through the Airbnb Community Fund to support various local nonprofits and conservation projects.
Key components of the initiative include an expanded partnership with Leave No Trace to promote responsible recreation and outdoor ethics. The investment also includes donations to Washington’s National Park Fund and Trout Unlimited, as well as support for climate-resilient forests via the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and EFM on the Olympic Peninsula and western Washington.
To encourage local engagement, Airbnb is launching a volunteer incentive program. Washington residents who sign up to volunteer with Washington’s National Park Fund will receive a $100 Airbnb credit, with the program supporting volunteer activities through the end of summer 2027.
