Airbnb host faces 1,290 euro electricity bill due to guest cryptomining

An Airbnb host, Ashley, reported that guests incurred over 1,290 euros in electricity costs during a three-week stay. The high expenditure was attributed to the guests setting up an electric vehicle charging station and using the residence for cryptocurrency mining for one week.

Upon reviewing outdoor security footage, the host observed the guests removing approximately ten different computers from the property. Following this incident, the host implemented a new rule stating that guests must pay extra if their electricity bill exceeds 380 euros.
