Airbus and Boeing report increased aircraft deliveries in 2026

Major aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing are showing signs of sustained production recovery in 2026. Airbus delivered 57 commercial aircraft in August, bringing its year-to-date total to 475 units, a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2025. While deliveries for the A330 family were temporarily slowed by a production issue involving a lost tool, the company has resumed deliveries and remains on track to meet its annual goal of 870 aircraft.

Airbus's order book remains strong, bolstered by significant demand from China. Recent orders include 15 A350-900s from Air China and 40 A321neos from Shenzhen Airlines. Additionally, the new A350F freighter has reached 115 firm orders, supported by customers such as Atlas Air and Air China Cargo, ahead of its anticipated first flight.

Boeing reported its highest eight-month delivery volume since 2018, delivering 418 aircraft between January and August 2026. In August alone, Boeing delivered 51 aircraft, with the 737 MAX accounting for 41 of those units. Although 787 Dreamliner deliveries saw a monthly decline, the company maintains its annual delivery targets for the model.
