Airbus announces changes to its Board of Directors

Airbus has announced several changes to its Board of Directors following a meeting on October 1. René Obermann has stepped down from the board to focus on his role as a non-executive director and incoming chairman of the Supervisory Board at SAP.

To fill the vacancy left by Obermann, the board has co-opted Christophe Fouquet, the CEO of ASML, as a non-executive director. Fouquet will seek a full three-year mandate at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2027.

Additionally, Jean-Pierre Clamadieu will not seek a new mandate when his current term expires in 2027. Florent Menegaux, CEO of Michelin, has been selected to succeed him and will seek a three-year mandate at the 2027 AGM. Amparo Moraleda, who assumed the role of Chair of the Airbus Board of Directors on October 1, and Oliver Zipse will both seek renewed mandates at the 2027 AGM.

Mark Dunkerley has been designated as the Chair of the Remuneration, Nomination and Governance Committee and as Lead Independent Director, succeeding Amparo Moraleda in those specific capacities.
