Airbus awarded 25-year French military cybersecurity contract
The French General Directorate for Armament (DGA) has awarded Airbus, through its subsidiary Airbus Cybersecurity SAS, a 25-year contract known as PARACOM. The agreement involves the design, development, production, and long-term operational maintenance of advanced cybersecurity gateways for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans’ Affairs.
These gateways are designed to facilitate secure, filtered data exchanges between networks with varying levels of sensitivity, including certified exchanges between ‘secret’ and ‘unclassified’ levels. The technology is intended to serve as a digital shield for the French military, enabling secure communication across diverse platforms.
The hardware is built for high versatility and will be deployed in various settings. This includes integration into data center racks, use in command posts, and deployment in tactical environments such as surface vessels, submarines, aircraft, helicopters, drones, and armored vehicles.
