Airbus Beluga XL performs regular logistics flights to Hamburg

The Airbus Beluga XL aircraft regularly visits the Airbus plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder to perform specialized logistics tasks. The aircraft, named for its resemblance to a beluga whale, is used to transport large aircraft components from the Airbus main plant in Toulouse, France, to other production sites.

In Hamburg, the Beluga XL delivers fuselage parts for final assembly and supports the interior outfitting of the Airbus A380. The transport aircraft is equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, has a nonstop range of 4,023 kilometers, and can carry up to 51 tons of cargo. Airbus operates a fleet of six of these aircraft, each measuring over 63 meters in length.
