Airbus completes €90 million factory unification in Cádiz, Spain

Airbus has completed a five-year consolidation project in the province of Cádiz, Spain, unifying its operations from the former Puerto Real and El Puerto de Santa María plants into a single multi-product center known as Airbus Cádiz. The project involved an investment exceeding 90 million euros and the expansion of 4,000 square meters of facility space.

The new center integrates 750 workers and focuses on increased robotization and automation to improve efficiency and reliability. This modernization aims to support Airbus’s goal of increasing monthly production rates, such as the target of 75 A320 aircraft per month by the end of 2027. The facility produces structural components for several commercial aircraft families, including the A320, A330, and A350, as well as support for the A380.

In addition to commercial aviation, the site maintains defense production capabilities, contributing to the A400M, A295, MRTT, Eurofighter, and Eurodrone programs. The company stated that the integration allowed it to transform two previously unprofitable factories into an efficient, competitive model without negative impacts on employment levels.
