Airbus employees in Spain approve new labor agreement
Airbus employees in Spain have voted to approve a new collective bargaining agreement, effectively ending months of industrial action and strikes across several locations. With an 87 percent participation rate, 76.7 percent of the workforce supported the compromise proposal negotiated with the mediation of the Spanish Ministry of Industry.
The agreement focuses on restoring purchasing power lost to inflation. Key provisions include direct wage adjustments and a mechanism to link future salary increases to the consumer price index. The deal also addresses remote work, establishing a right for office staff to work from home for up to 40 percent of their working time, resolving previous disputes regarding attendance controls and teleworking restrictions.
The vote involved approximately 13,560 workers across eight sites, including Getafe, Albacete, Illescas, Seville, and Cádiz. These facilities are critical to the production of military transport aircraft, Eurofighter components, and various civilian aircraft parts. Following the vote, strike committees from UGT, CGT, and ÚTIL have called off the indefinite strike that had been in effect since late August.
