Airbus retreats from mandatory four-day office week policy

Airbus has retreated from its plan to mandate a minimum of four days of in-office presence per week for office employees and engineers. Following protests in France and labor conflicts in Spain, the company informed managers that existing agreements allowing for an average of two remote days per week could be maintained, effectively suspending the uniform imposition of a single remote day.

In Spain, despite the company's commitment to restore previous teleworking conditions and maintain individual agreements, the conflict persists. Labor assemblies representing CGT, UGT, and ÚTIL rejected a proposal presented by Airbus during mediation on August 21, indicating that the dispute over work organization and the divide between hybrid-capable roles and production roles remains unresolved.
