Airbus Spain employees vote on labor agreement
More than 14,000 employees at Airbus Spain are participating in a referendum to decide whether to accept a preliminary agreement reached between management and several unions, including CCOO, SIPA, and ATP. The vote follows three months of labor tension characterized by two strikes, including an indefinite one.
The voting process is scheduled to take place over two days, starting September 30 via a company application and continuing on October 1 through in-person voting at workplaces. The results are expected to be announced by Friday. This decision will determine if the current agreement can resolve the labor conflict that has persisted since July.
This follows a previous referendum in July where the workforce was deeply divided, with 49.15% rejecting the then-proposed agreement and 45.95% voting in favor. The current vote occurs under different circumstances, including improved conditions in the new preliminary agreement and a shift in union mobilization efforts.
