Airbus Spain workers vote on pre‑agreement amid ongoing strike

Since 1 July, more than 14 000 employees at Airbus facilities in Getafe, Sevilla, Cádiz, Albacete and other sites have been on strike. The three main unions – CCOO, the independent SIPA and ATP – negotiated a pre‑agreement with the company that offers a cumulative 12 % salary rise over 2026‑27, a €2 000 end‑of‑cycle bonus, maintenance of two days of tele‑work, and the removal of the Bradford absentee‑monitoring method, among other benefits.

The agreement was put to a binding referendum on the Friday after the unions representing over 75 % of the bargaining unit called all staff to vote. Preliminary figures showed a very close result, with some reports indicating the proposal was rejected while others noted the vote was still being tallied. The uncertainty left the future of the industrial action unresolved. In response, SIPA suspended the strike to allow workers to cast their votes, but the outcome may determine whether the stoppage resumes or ends.
