Airbus strike in Spain continues as unions reject company offer

Spanish unions supporting the Airbus strike — SIPA, UGT, ATP, UTIL and CGT — have rejected the proposal presented by the company's management. In assemblies held on Friday, 95% of participants said the offer was “no es válida” and should not be put to a referendum. The strike, which began on 1 July, now enjoys “superior al 90%” support among workers, according to union statements.

Around 4,000 employees demonstrated in Getafe, marching from the town hall to the factory’s north gate to protest planned cuts. Unions demand a higher wage increase, a new proposal that meets their expectations, and clear, verifiable guarantees from Airbus. They also seek the immediate release of the negotiating commission to reach a pre‑agreement that could be approved by a company‑wide referendum.

The CCOO union reported a pre‑agreement with Airbus that includes a 12% salary review through 2027, the preservation of current tele‑working conditions, and the introduction of flexible vacation arrangements at each site.
