Airbus to expand Moroccan operations with third factory

Airbus plans to expand its operations in Morocco by 30%, adding approximately 23,000 square meters of facilities. This expansion includes the establishment of a third factory dedicated to design, manufacturing, and assembly.

Mikael Bertrand, the group's representative in Morocco, stated that the expansion will be officially announced in the coming months. Airbus has operated in the kingdom for over five decades, currently managing two plants and employing more than 1,300 people. The company works with 100 local suppliers and accounts for roughly 60% of Morocco's aerospace sector.

The Moroccan aerospace industry has seen significant growth, with exports reaching approximately $3 billion by the end of August, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%. Airbus facilities in the country produce various components, including cockpit panels for the A320, landing gear doors, and interior cabin parts. The branch Airbus Atlantic Morocco Composites is currently the group's sole global supplier for A320 pilot cockpits and ATR luggage compartments.
