Airbus unveils first A350F freighter with special livery

Airbus has unveiled its first fully assembled and painted A350F freighter, featuring a unique ‘delivery box’ livery. The design was selected from approximately 4,000 entries in a company competition, combining two winning concepts to reflect the aircraft’s purpose in the air cargo market.

The A350F is a dedicated freighter developed from the A350 passenger family, utilizing a shortened fuselage, a strengthened floor, and a large main-deck cargo door. It is designed to carry a maximum payload of approximately 111 tonnes using industry-standard pallets and containers.

While Airbus officially states the maiden flight will occur before the end of 2026, industry sources suggest the manufacturer may target the third week of September or early October for the first flight. This would precede previous public guidance. The company currently expects the first customer deliveries to take place in the second half of 2027.
