Airdrie Covenant Health Centre announced for Alberta

The Alberta government and Covenant Health have announced a partnership to develop the Airdrie Covenant Health Centre, a new facility expected to open in 2031. The project aims to address the rapid population growth in Airdrie, which has increased from approximately 30,000 to over 90,000 residents in the last two decades.

The centre will consist of two main components: an Urgent Care and Birthing Centre, and a Primary, Surgical and Ambulatory Care Centre. The facility is designed to handle roughly 1,000 births and 30,000 urgent care visits annually, while the surgical centre is expected to provide capacity for about 10,000 procedures each year.

The Alberta government will fund the land purchase and construction of the urgent care and birthing facility. Covenant Health will be responsible for developing the surgical and ambulatory centre and coordinating with provincial ministries to align services with community demand. This project serves as the initial phase of the larger Covenant Wellness Community.
