Airdrie teen trio sentenced for violent attacks on peers

Three youths – two aged 14 and one aged 16 – carried out a series of assaults on other teenagers in Airdrie and Coatbridge in June 2024. The attacks involved punching, kicking, a golf club, a baseball bat and an attempted hammer strike. The trio pleaded guilty at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Joseph Hughes sentenced two of the offenders to three‑year supervision orders and six‑month electronic tagging. The third offender's sentence was deferred until October. All three received five‑year non‑harassment orders. Hughes remarked that it was a "blessing" the injuries were not more serious.
