Airfryer accessories and appliances undergo testing

Recent evaluations of airfryer accessories and appliances highlight varying levels of value and safety. Stiftung Warentest examined seven specialized oil sprays designed for airfryers, intended to provide even coating and crispiness. The study found that three of the seven tested sprays contained significant levels of pollutants, making them not recommended. Furthermore, the testers found no significant taste advantage for these expensive specialty oils compared to standard cooking oils. While the sprays were heat-stable, they were significantly more expensive than common rapeseed oil, with some products costing up to 44 times more per liter.

In the appliance market, the Ninja Crispi Pro has been tested as a modular airfryer system that utilizes glass containers instead of traditional baskets. This design allows users to monitor the cooking process visually and use the containers for serving or storage. While the glass construction is high-quality and the packaging is eco-friendly, the weight of the large containers and the narrowness of the handles may present safety challenges when handling hot, full vessels.
