Airfryer ovens emerge as versatile competitors to traditional models

The popularity of airfryers has grown significantly in households, offering a compact and energy-efficient alternative to traditional ovens for quick meals and snacks. Food writer Aaron Hutcherson, once a skeptic, notes that while the devices provide crispier results and faster cooking times, users should avoid using certain nonstick sprays that can damage the basket coating and ensure the basket is not overfilled.

However, a new competitor is emerging in the kitchen appliance market: the airfryer oven, or convection countertop oven. Unlike the traditional basket-style airfryer, these models offer more space and versatility, allowing for multi-level cooking using racks or baking sheets. While basket airfryers remain popular due to their lower cost and ease of use, airfryer ovens are increasingly attractive for families or those wishing to perform tasks like baking, grilling, and dehydrating food.
