Airfryer usage: Foods to avoid for safety and quality
While airfryers are increasingly popular for creating crispy foods with less fat and energy than traditional frying, certain foods are unsuitable for the appliance. Using incorrect ingredients can lead to messy cleanups, poor cooking results, or even increased fire hazards.
Foods with high water content, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, or melons, tend to become mushy and watery rather than crispy. Additionally, thin liquids like soups, sauces, or certain batters can drip through the basket holes, causing splattering and making the device difficult to clean. For best results, foods with lower water content are recommended.
