AirHelp app lets Portuguese travelers check flight delays before heading to the airport
AirHelp has released a free mobile application for Android and iOS that lets users monitor flights in real time, receive alerts about delays, gate changes and other operational updates, and even view the aircraft’s current location. The app also analyses a traveller’s past three years of flights to identify possible compensation claims and allows users to start the claim process directly within the platform.
According to the company, in 2025 Portugal recorded the highest share of delayed or cancelled flights in Europe, with 36 % of the roughly 33 million passengers departing Portuguese airports experiencing disruptions. TAP Air Portugal was the most searched airline on the app, followed by Ryanair, while Lisbon, Porto, Madeira and São Miguel airports were the most monitored domestic hubs. Madrid topped the list of international destinations monitored by Portuguese users.
