Airlines adjust route frequencies in Poland and Sweden
Wizz Air is adjusting its flight schedules from Poland, focusing on increasing frequency for long-distance routes. During the winter season, the airline will expand service from Katowice Pyrzowice airport to destinations such as Madeira, Egypt, and Georgia. For example, flights to Funchal will increase to five times per week starting mid-December, while service to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will reach up to six flights per week in early 2025.
Separately, Etihad Airways has decided to convert its Abu Dhabi to Göteborg route into a year-round service due to higher-than-expected demand. Originally planned as a seasonal winter connection, the airline cited strong interest from both Swedish travelers and passengers within its global network. This decision contrasts with the current status of Kraków, which lacks a connection to Abu Dhabi during the autumn-winter season despite reported demand.
