Airlines expand flight operations in Brazil for summer season

Major airlines are expanding flight operations in Brazil to meet increased demand during the upcoming summer high season.

Copa Airlines has announced an increase in frequencies between Brasília International Airport and Panama City. Starting in December 2026, the airline will increase its service to eight weekly flights. During the peak months of January and February 2027, the frequency is expected to rise to 11 weekly flights, representing a 57% increase compared to July 2024 levels. This expansion leverages Panama City as a strategic connection hub for travelers heading to other destinations across the Americas.

Simultaneously, LATAM is increasing its domestic capacity in Brazil by 13% for the 2026-2027 summer season. The airline will add 52 weekly frequencies, bringing its total domestic operations from 384 to 436 weekly flights. These additions will be implemented across 26 routes starting in mid-December 2026 and lasting until February 7, 2027. Key expansions include increased service from São Paulo (Guarulhos and Congonhas) to various regional destinations, as well as expanded operations from Brasília to Natal.
