Airlines expand flight routes between Europe and Canada
Airlines are expanding flight connections between Europe and Canada as European travelers increasingly choose Canadian destinations.
WestJet has recently introduced several new routes. In May, the airline launched service from Cardiff, UK, to Toronto, followed by connections to Glasgow and Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Additionally, WestJet has opened new flights from its Halifax hub to Madrid, Lisbon, and Copenhagen.
Air Canada is also planning significant expansions for 2027. The carrier intends to launch seasonal flights from Toronto to Oslo, Norway; Shannon, Ireland; and Nice, France, starting in June 2027. Furthermore, Air Canada will begin serving Dubrovnik, Croatia, and Basel, Switzerland, from Montréal in May and June 2027.
