Airlink expands network to Doha via Qatar Airways codeshare

Airlink is expanding its network through an enhanced codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, marking the airline's first long-haul destination: Doha. Starting August 31, 2026, Airlink will place its 4Z code on Qatar Airways-operated flights between South Africa and Doha.

The service includes double-daily flights from Johannesburg, 10 weekly services from Cape Town, and daily services from Durban via Maputo. All these routes will be operated using Airbus A350 aircraft. This arrangement allows passengers to connect through Hamad International Airport to various destinations within the Qatar Airways global network.

The agreement builds upon a 2022 partnership and follows Qatar Airways' acquisition of a 25% minority stake in Airlink in 2024. Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht stated that the move strengthens the airline's market relevance and provides unparalleled connectivity opportunities for customers.
