Airlink expands Southern African flight network for 2026 summer season

Airlink is expanding its flight schedule for the 2026 summer travel season, introducing new routes and increasing frequencies across Southern Africa. The expansion, occurring between October and December, aims to provide more options during the peak leisure and family travel period.

Key changes include the launch of a new service between Johannesburg’s Lanseria Airport and Harare, Zimbabwe, in November. From December, the airline will increase its Cape Town to Harare service to three flights per week and add two weekend return services between Cape Town and George. Additionally, a new daily return service will be established between Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International and George, while Nosy Be in Madagascar will receive an extra flight for the summer peak.

The airline is also integrating its new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft into its fleet. This includes deploying the E2 on daily Johannesburg to Nairobi flights starting in October and introducing the E195-E2 Business Class product to the Johannesburg to Zanzibar route. CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht stated the changes are intended to provide customers with more choice and a better experience during the busy season.
