AirNav Indonesia begins revitalization of Pasar Ngasem in Yogyakarta
AirNav Indonesia has launched a revitalization project for Pasar Ngasem in Yogyakarta as part of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. The initiative, themed ‘Ngasem Berwarna, Ngasem Bersih - Langit Jogja Terjaga’, coincides with the company’s 14th anniversary.
The project aims to support the local economy and preserve Yogyakarta’s cultural landscape by improving public facilities and environmental cleanliness. Key improvements include the organization of waste sorting areas, cleaning and repairing clogged drainage systems, installing CCTV cameras, and enhancing waste management education. Additionally, the program includes aesthetic upgrades, such as painting murals on market walls to replace dilapidated areas.
AirNav Indonesia President Director Capt. Avirianto Suratno stated that the market was chosen due to its vital role in the economic and cultural life of the Yogyakarta community. Yogyakarta Acting Mayor Hasto Wardoyo expressed appreciation for the collaboration, noting that improvements in waste management and drainage are already becoming visible.
