Airola fire: dioxins detected in sheep milk in Cervinara

Joint inspections following the Airola fire have confirmed two instances of dioxin non-compliance in sheep milk in Cervinara. In response, the ASL of Avellino veterinary services immediately blocked the product and removed it from the food chain. Authorities are currently investigating potential exposure sources for the animals, including grazing areas.

Other previously reported non-compliances include pasture grass in Airola, chopped corn in Bonea, and pasture grass in Forchia. While some agricultural samples—such as grapes, eggplants, alfalfa, and pumpkin in various locations—showed favorable results, testing in Forchia remains ongoing for olives and sheep milk.

Regarding soil quality, nine definitive results from Airola, San Martino Valle Caudina, Arienzo, Cervinara, Rotondi, and Santa Maria a Vico showed no exceedance of contamination thresholds. Additional soil tests and 14 other registrations are currently being processed.
