Airola Mayor Vincenzo Falzarano removed from office

The municipal council of Airola has passed a motion of no confidence against Mayor Vincenzo Falzarano, resulting in the early termination of his administration. The motion was initiated one month ago by five council members and supported by a public petition containing approximately one thousand signatures.

The vote concluded with seven council members in favor of the motion and five against. During the session, Michele Napolitano resigned from his positions as deputy mayor and assessor for public works. The administration's tenure was significantly impacted by a major fire at a waste storage site on August 31.

The Prefect of Benevento is expected to appoint a prefectural commissioner to manage the municipality until the next administrative elections, which are scheduled for 2027.
