Airport Authority Hong Kong releases 2025/26 Sustainability Report

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has released its Sustainability Report 2025/26, detailing the performance of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) under its ‘Ascend’ strategy. The report focuses on four pillars: Environmental Excellence, Operational Excellence, Thriving Economies and Societies, and Thriving People.

Key environmental achievements include meeting a target to increase the recyclables recovery rate by 25% against a 2018 baseline. The authority also deployed 500 additional artificial reef units in North Lantau waters to support marine life. Notably, HKIA has become one of the first airports in Asia to incorporate a Nature-related Financial Disclosure Statement, following the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures.

Operational updates include the implementation of digital apron and command tower management systems, as well as the development of a generative AI-powered virtual customer service agent capable of handling queries in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. To support regional connectivity, new ‘Easy Park & Fly’ and ‘Easy Park & Tour’ services have been introduced for travelers arriving via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
