Airports of Morocco expands automated bag drop technology
Airports of Morocco is expanding its Self Bag Drop technology across the kingdom's airport network to enhance passenger autonomy and efficiency. Following an initial rollout with Royal Air Maroc at Casablanca-Mohammed V airport, six self-service bag drop kiosks have been installed at Rabat-Salé Airport's Terminal 2, specifically for Ryanair passengers.
The automated system allows travelers to deposit checked luggage themselves following their check-in process. Operational estimates suggest this technology can reduce time spent at the bag drop stage by 50% to 75%. This initiative is part of a broader digital transformation strategy that includes mobile boarding passes and the Pax Check system, aiming to streamline the entire passenger journey from airport entry to boarding.
