Airpress hosts “Arsenale per la pace” defense summit in Rome

The annual Airpress event, titled “Arsenale per la pace,” was held at Villa Blanc in Rome to discuss the future of European and Atlantic security. The summit brought together institutions, armed forces, industry leaders, and experts to address defense, deterrence, and emerging technological challenges, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and quantum technologies.

Participants discussed the evolving landscape of Italian and European defense, emphasizing the need for cooperation between nations and the industrial transformations reshaping the sector. Discussions also focused on the complexities of hybrid warfare, which often operates below the threshold of conventional conflict, making it difficult to perceive until its effects are felt.

Flavia Giacobbe, Director of Formiche and Airpress, noted that the goal is to expand the culture of defense within Italy, viewing security as a comprehensive issue that impacts the entire national system. Giorgio Mulè, Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies, highlighted the importance of evaluating current capabilities across land, air, and sea to ensure a cohesive defensive system.
