Airtasker launches ChatGPT plugin for end-to-end task bookings

Airtasker has launched a ChatGPT plugin that enables users to post, browse, and assign tasks entirely within the AI chat interface. This integration allows for end-to-end task bookings, including writing task descriptions, suggesting budgets, and assigning workers, without requiring users to switch to a separate app or website.

CEO and founder Tim Fung stated that the integration aims to close the gap between AI providing information and completing a job. The company reported that visitors arriving from AI assistants are over five times more likely to sign up and tend to post tasks worth 20% more than the marketplace average.

In addition to the ChatGPT plugin, Airtasker has introduced an MCP server that allows users to connect their own AI agents, such as Claude or Cursor, to the platform's functionality.
