Airtech drone training centers open in Ukmergė and Panevėžys

The Airtech drone training project has expanded its reach in Lithuania with the opening of new centers in Ukmergė and Panevėžys. These facilities are designed to teach children, youth, and adults how to construct, program, and operate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In Ukmergė, the center aims to train approximately 150 students annually. The curriculum is divided by age group: students in grades 5–8 focus on drone principles, soldering, and programming, while those in grades 9–12 engage in advanced FPV drone piloting, 3D printing, and repair. Training for students is available for 25 euros per month, though it can be covered by the non-formal education basket. The center also offers programs for adults.

The Panevėžys center, located in the regional STEAM center, plans to train about 300 young people per year. This marks Panevėžys as the seventh Lithuanian city to host Airtech training, joining Jonava, Tauragė, Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Plungė, and Ukmergė. The project is implemented by the Lithuanian Agency for Non-formal Education (LINEŠA) and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, as well as the Ministry of National Defence.
