Airtel Africa increases share buyback limit to $65 million

Airtel Africa has increased the financial limit of its ongoing share buyback programme, raising the maximum aggregate limit for discretionary purchases by $15 million, from $50 million to $65 million. The company intends to cancel all acquired shares to reduce its share capital.

Between August 10 and August 14, 2026, the company repurchased 927,133 ordinary shares through Barclays Capital Securities Limited. These transactions were executed across several venues, including the London Stock Exchange, BATS Europe, CHI-X Europe, Aquis Exchange, and Turquoise. During this five-day period, share prices fluctuated between 323.00 GBp and 329.60 GBp.

Since the programme's inception on May 22, 2026, Airtel Africa has repurchased a total of 18,338,632 ordinary shares at a volume-weighted average price of 337.11 GBp per share. The buyback operates via two components: a non-discretionary arrangement allowing Barclays to independently purchase between $50 million and $60 million worth of shares, and the expanded discretionary component.
