AIS Airlines Extends Wick‑Aberdeen PSO Route by One Year
AIS Airlines has secured a one‑year extension to its Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract for the regional air link between Wick and Aberdeen, with an option to prolong the agreement for an additional four years. The route, subsidised by the Scottish government and operated for Air Charter Scotland, is vital for maintaining connectivity in northern Scotland.
The airline will continue to operate daily flights using its Jetstream 32 fleet. CEO Arend van der Meer said the renewal confirms confidence from both the government and the airline’s partner, and fits AIS Airlines’ broader growth plans, including training new pilots through its AIS Flight Academy and expanding its regional network.
