AIS launches new sommelier training courses in Italy

The Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) is launching new educational programs for aspiring sommeliers in Italy.

In Arzachena, a second-level sommelier course is scheduled to begin on November 12, 2026. The program, hosted at IPSAR Costa Smeralda, focuses on Italian and international wine production and advanced tasting techniques. The curriculum includes 15 classroom lessons and a visit to a winery. This course is specifically reserved for AIS members in good standing for 2026.

In Cesena, an AIS course at the Romagna branch will begin on October 12. This program offers an immersive experience through in-person lessons, e-learning modules, and winery visits. The curriculum covers topics ranging from vineyards and terroir to vinification, tasting techniques, and food pairing, with additional studies on beer, spirits, and liqueurs.
