Aisha Bowe meets with students in Adana to discuss space technology

Former NASA rocket scientist and astronaut Aisha Bowe met with students in Adana, Turkey, to share her experiences in space travel, science, and technology. The event, organized by the U.S. Consulate General Adana at Çukurova Teknokent, focused on encouraging youth to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Bowe, who crossed the Kármán line in April 2025 during Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission, discussed her research on plant biology in microgravity. She emphasized that space exploration is essential for humanity’s future and predicted that space travel will become increasingly accessible to ordinary people. During her visit, she also remarked on Turkey’s potential in the space sector, stating, “The stars are currently on your flag, but Turkey will be among the stars in the coming period.”
