Aisone Caves Trail features Neolithic archaeological sites
The Aisone Caves Trail traverses the Aisone Caves Nature Reserve, an area established by the Piedmont Region in 2019 to preserve local biodiversity and archaeological heritage.
The moderate-difficulty hiking route covers approximately 5.36 km (3.33 miles) and takes roughly 2 hours and 55 minutes to complete. The path winds through mixed woodlands and alongside various caves, including the notable Shelter 10, which contains evidence of seasonal Neolithic settlements.
The trail begins and ends at the Aisone car park, passing through the small hamlet of Pirone and the rocky outcrops of La Comba.
