Aitrach-Arche daycare becomes first certified One-World-Kita in Straubing-Bogen

The Aitrach-Arche daycare center in Niedersunzing, located in the municipality of Leiblfing, has become the first certified ‘One-World-Kita’ in the Straubing-Bogen district. The facility integrates fair trade products, recycling, and environmental education into its daily routines.

To mark the conclusion of the 2026 Fair Trade Week, representatives from the district's Fair Trade steering group and local officials visited the center. Activities showcased during the visit included tree planting, experiments, and crafting with recyclable materials, alongside the use of fair trade food and toys.

Local officials, including Deputy District Administrator Ludwig Knott and Leiblfing Mayor Georg Emer, praised the initiative, noting that integrating sustainability into daily childcare provides a valuable contribution to the future.
