Aixa Vigil seeks to play abroad after final season in Peru

Peruvian volleyball player Aixa Vigil has expressed her intention to return to international leagues following her recent signing with Universitario de Deportes. The 24-year-old stated that she aims to make this her final season in the local tournament to support her family before moving abroad.

Vigil described the current environment in Peruvian volleyball as “very toxic” for her, noting that while she has received significant offers to leave the country, she chose to stay for one more season to ensure she is physically prepared for her next professional step.

Looking ahead to international competition, Vigil emphasized her focus on the South American Championship in Brazil this September. She stated her goal is to help the Peruvian national team secure qualification for the World Championship.
