Aixtron reports doubled quarterly orders despite unchanged outlook
Aixtron has reported a significant surge in quarterly orders, which more than doubled compared to the previous year's corresponding period. The company's preliminary order intake reached approximately 275 million EUR, up from 124 million EUR in the prior year's quarter.
Despite this operational strength, Aixtron has maintained its full-year guidance. Preliminary EBIT is reported at around 57 million EUR, representing an EBIT margin of approximately 31 percent. While both order intake and profitability exceeded market expectations, the company did not raise its annual forecast.
The company's performance comes amid a broader sell-off in German technology stocks. Market pressures include skepticism regarding the financing of large-scale AI infrastructure projects, geopolitical risks, and concerns over high interest rates following US inflation data. Deutsche Bank Research has maintained a ‘Hold’ rating on the stock with a price target of 44 EUR, noting that the strong quarterly figures do not necessarily translate to an improved annual outlook.
