Manaus sanctions R$ 3 million transport subsidy amid regional legislative updates

Various municipal legislative actions are underway across Brazil and Portugal. In Manaus, Mayor Renato Junior sanctioned Law 700/2026, authorizing monthly subsidies of up to R$ 3 million for complementary transport, including the 'amarelinhos' micro-buses. In São Luís, a new zoning and land use bill has advanced through commissions after receiving 133 amendments. Meanwhile, in Acre, the voting of the R$ 11.7 billion LDO for 2027 was postponed due to a lack of quorum.

In Maricá, a bill has been proposed to grant ISS tax exemptions for various transport professionals, including taxi and app drivers, to support autonomous workers.
