AJ Auxerre signs English striker Cameron Archer on loan

AJ Auxerre has announced the signing of English striker Cameron Archer on a season-long loan from Southampton. The 24-year-old moves to the French club without an option to buy and will wear the number 9 shirt.

Archer, who was trained at Aston Villa, previously played for Preston North End, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield United. He will reunite with manager Will Still, whom he played under during the 2025-2026 season at Southampton. The club described the striker as a fast and mobile player capable of attacking depth.

In related transfer activity, Canadian player Théo Bair has been loaned to Bolton. Reports also suggest that AJ Auxerre is interested in signing central defender Axel Tuanzebe.
