AJ Dybantsa Eyes No.1 Spot in 2026 NBA Draft as Top Prospect

Prospect AJ Dybantsa told Dev In The Lab that he wants to be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, saying he has been “number one” since eighth grade and highlighting his season averages of 25 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He cited Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic as film study inspirations.

The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie ranked Dybantsa sixth among the 20 best draft prospects since 2015, alongside players such as Cameron Boozer (7), Darryn Peterson (8) and Caleb Wilson (18). The Memphis Grizzlies are expected to draft one of these top prospects, with Boozer projected for the No. 3 overall pick and Peterson and Wilson also in contention. The list notes that many of the 2026 class have already earned All‑NBA, All‑Star and Rookie of the Year honors, underscoring the depth of the draft pool.
