Washington Wizards defeat Milwaukee Bucks in season opener

The Washington Wizards secured a 128-116 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in their season opener at Capital One Arena. Anthony Davis led the Wizards in his debut, recording 34 points and 12 rebounds. Trae Young contributed 20 points and 13 assists to the win.

Despite the victory, the Wizards played without No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa, who was ruled out due to a left ankle sprain suffered during the preseason. Dybantsa is currently considered day-to-day. The Wizards overcame a slow start and poor three-point shooting to take control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Milwaukee 77-60 in the second half.

The game marked a significant transition for both franchises. The Bucks, now led by head coach Taylor Jenkins, played their first game following the offseason trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. Tyler Herro led Milwaukee with 24 points, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 22 points.
