AJ Lee discusses potential future WWE returns

AJ Lee has indicated that while she is not ruling out a future return to WWE, any subsequent comeback would be strictly dependent on the quality of the storytelling. Following her long-awaited return in August 2025, which saw her join her husband CM Punk in a rivalry involving Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, Lee has not appeared on WWE programming since WrestleMania 42.

Lee noted that her initial return was motivated by both a compelling narrative and business considerations, specifically regarding WWE’s relationship with ESPN. She emphasized that she is a character-driven performer who seeks opportunities that feel new or ground-breaking. During her recent stint, she achieved the milestone of winning the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Despite her confidence in her in-ring abilities, Lee stated she is not interested in returning simply for the sake of wrestling. She remains focused on her personal interests, including writing and fitness, while remaining open to future opportunities if the right story is presented.
