AJ Rebollo clarifies exit from Bad Wolves over Dolly Parton cover

Former Bad Wolves guitarist AJ Rebollo has issued a follow-up statement to clarify his previous comments regarding the band’s cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” Rebollo had initially criticized the decision to release the song following Parton’s recent death, citing it as a primary reason for his departure from the group.

In his new statement, Rebollo acknowledged that some of his previous assumptions were incorrect. He learned that the label, Better Noise, proceeded with the release with the approval of Dolly Parton’s team and that founding member John Boecklin had also authorized the release. Rebollo attributed his exit to ongoing communication issues within the band but noted he should have verified his speculations with management.

Rebollo emphasized that the proceeds from the song will be donated to Parton’s Imagination Library organization.
